Because most of the furniture being moved out of the library wouldn't fit into the elevators, movers had to use main stairway.
During the week of July 8, 2008, we began to move out the old furniture to make way for new furniture, more study spaces (including new group study rooms) and a cafe.
The furniture had been in the library since the "new" building opened in 1980. The furniture lasted a long time and was very durable, but very heavy, awkward, and difficult to move -- most of it didn't fit into any of our elevators. It took a moving crews a couple of days.
